Africa Tours and Safaris
Great Zambian Journey

This safari will enable you to explore Zambia, the legendary land of the walking safari, with an environment as untamed as it was 50 years ago. Enjoy breathtaking wildlife sightings and exciting game walks in the magic of Kafue National Park.

Day 1
On arrival at Livingstone Airport, you are met by our safari representative and transferred by road to The River Club for the start of your Zambia safari. The River Club is situated on the Zambian side of the Zambezi River, 18 km upstream from Victoria Falls. The camp has a distinct Edwardian flavour and guests here have the opportunity from here to travel a short distance to enjoy the sights and sounds of Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River in a peaceful and tranquil setting away from the crowds. Being that Zambezi National Park is located just across the river, you will have a chance to view elephants on the riverbank. You will see hippos and bird life found in the area. Enjoy a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Dinner and overnight at The River Club

Days 2 & 3
After breakfast, transfer by road to Livingstone airport to board on a charter flight to Lunga River Lodge. The lodge is located on a raised bank of the Lunga River. The deep and clear Lunga River is the largest tributary of the Kafue River and flows north to south through a mosaic of Miombo woodland, riverine woodland and grassy 'dambos' in the north-east of the Kafue National Park. On arrival, you will enjoy a short nature drive to the lodge. Animals like the puku, impala, roan, Lichtenstein's hartebeest, buffalo, elephant, lion and leopard will be viewed. During these two days, you will be carrying out canoe and boat trips, day and night game drives, sport fishing and walking safaris. Dinner and overnight at Lunga River Lodge

Days 4 - 6
Depart from the Lunga River Lodge on a road transfer with an en-route game drive through the Miombo woodland to the renowned Busanga Plains in the north-west of the Park. Busanga Bush Camp is located deep inside the wildlife haven of the Busanga Plains. Placed under the large fig trees of a small tree island, the camp features superb views of the flat game-rich plains that surround it. During this 3 hours transfer, you will encounter roan, errand and sable en-route. Floodplain, grassland and woodland islands include an environment suitable to extended game drives, by day and night. For those interested in birding, the park boasts 491 species, including endemics such as Chaplin's Barbet. Dinner and overnight at Lunga River Lodge

Day 7
After a short morning game activity, you will be transferred to Lunga airstrip to end your safari.
