Knysna is our 2nd Ocean Safaris' legally licensed boat-based whale watching operation on the Garden Route. Knysna, on the Garden Route, is approximately 2 hours from Port Elizabeth and 4 hours from Cape Town.

Trips are made daily, weather permitting, taking a maximum of 12 adventurers on a 3 and a half hour trip. We launch all year round, weather permitting, from the Nature Conservation Jetty on the Knysna Lagoon.
Join us on a spectacular journey as we head out through the deep and world renown Knysna Heads, looming large on either side of us. Enter the Indian Ocean where the world of whales and dolphins awaits you.

First we head out to the spectacular Nine Castles of Noetzie, all the while searching for sightings of whales and dolphins - then we cut across down past Brenton (home of the Brenton Blue Butterfly) to Buffalo Bay. Unique to Buffalo Bay are the resident Humpback dolphins, living in an unusually large group of around 35! These shy, endangered dolphins are an extraordinary site to behold - and set in the backdrop of the Goumma Nature Reserve, the experience will take your breath away.

Your safety and enjoyment is our prime concern. All our whale and dolphin watching vessels are fully licensed and skippered by professionals, ensuring your safety and enjoyment. Our boats are equipped with safety equipment and maintained to a high standard. Approved by Marine Safety Authorities, they have been custom built and designed especially for the Indian Ocean.
